Antimicrobial Protection Built Into the Foam

Genadyne Silver Foam

Genadyne Silver Foam is an advanced polyurethane dressing designed to enhance the performance of Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (NPWT) while providing integrated antimicrobial protection. Silver is uniformly incorporated throughout the foam, helping manage wounds where bacterial burden is a concern without compromising NPWT performance.

Manufactured from fully reticulated polyurethane with polyether resin, the foam provides excellent hydrolytic stability and maintains structural integrity in moist wound environments. Its open-cell architecture allows efficient distribution of negative pressure across the wound surface while facilitating the removal of exudate and infectious material.

The foam’s advanced duo-decahedron cell structure forms a three-dimensional skeletal network that enhances filtration, improves fluid management, and increases tensile strength. This significantly reduces fraying and minimizes the risk of foam fragments remaining in the wound bed.

Silver is evenly distributed throughout the foam matrix, allowing antimicrobial protection across the entire dressing, even when cut to size, without the need for additional antimicrobial layers.

Genadyne Silver Foam also maintains non-adherent properties, enabling easier and less traumatic dressing removal while helping reduce patient discomfort during dressing changes.

By maintaining direct contact with the wound bed and ensuring uniform pressure distribution, Genadyne Silver Foam supports edema reduction, improves tissue perfusion, and promotes the formation of healthy granulation tissue while helping manage microbial presence within the wound environment.
